Raithwaite Hall, nr. Whitby
Shouksmiths was appointed by Wates Construction to deliver the design and installation of all the building services at the Skelwith Group’s new 45 bedroom, 5 star hotel at Sandsend, near Whitby. The £30 million Raithwaite Hall Hotel comprises a gym, function rooms, restaurant, swimming pool and spa. The project included extensive use of energy efficient LED lighting and the fitting of all the sanitary ware, drainage systems and domestic services. Heating and cooling is sourced from a combination of a biomass boiler, gas fired boilers and cooling by a variable refrigerant flow system.
Carnegie Stand, Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds
Working with Caddick Construction, Shouksmiths was awarded the £900,000 contract to install the mechanical, electrical and plumbing services at the prestigious Carnegie Stand at Headingley. Developed in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University, the new Carnegie Stand provides seating/standing accommodation for 4550 spectators, plus 12 seminar rooms, a major facility for up to 350 people and a HelpZone. Shouksmiths also carried out the building services installation to the East Stand on the Headingley Cricket Ground.
Allerton Castle, nr. Harrogate
As part of a £1.25 million restoration project led by Linton Construction, Shouksmiths installed 40 tonnes of lead at Allerton Castle to help restore the building to its former glory following a devastating fire. Shouksmiths assisted with the design of the roof to ensure all works were in-line with current legislation regarding lead, and to make sure special features, including gargoyles and ridge flashing looked exactly as they did before the fire.
